The itinerary towards Cima di Ferrera (1.387 m) is characterized by an unusual view of Valsassina and by the intense difficulty.
Starting from Maggio, follow the road to Valle Dongoli where, after a short uphill stretch on the dirt road, the itinerary turns left towards Pra Marc and Ussola. On the right, start the hike in the beech tree forest, up to Cima di Ferrera. Then continue until you come out of the woods and you come across a small lake and a view of the north side of Mount Resegone. From here on the right you can easily reach Bocchetta di Dongoli. Continue into the Valle Dongoli and walk along the river to close the itinerary, returning to Maggio.
The ring path can also be walked in the opposite direction.
