Monte Due Mani, with its 1.666 m, is the highest mountain of the area. From its top, characterized by the big cross and the igloo bivouac, the panorama on the lakes, Grigne and Valsassina is breathtaking. To reach Mount Due Mani you start from Maggio, in the locality Casere, for a ring-shaped itinerary that passes first through Mount Tabor, then along the locality La Foppa, continuing uphill until Zucco di Desio (1.651 m), to finally reach the top of Due Mani.
Bivacco Locatelli - with its igloo shape - characterizes this peak. The suggested descent is towards Bocchetta di Desio; here turn left and follow the path until the signs for Cascina Rizzolo in Val dei Grignoni and go down to the valley where the ring ends. The itinerary is in the woods and does not present any particular difficulties. This pre-alpine environment is characterized by pastures, beech and birch trees. It can be walked all year round and is one of the most appreciated itineraries in the area.
